How the chart works

Every track on this page belongs to an independent artist who published it through TimbrGate. There is no editorial team picking winners and no label paying for placement. A track enters the chart the moment it receives its first vote, and its position is decided by one thing: how many people pressed the heart.

Votes are counted per listener, not per click, so refreshing the page or opening it in another tab will not inflate a track's standing. When two tracks tie on votes, the one with more plays ranks higher - a small tiebreaker that rewards the song people actually finished listening to. Ranks recalculate live: cast a vote and you will see the order shift under you within a second, because every visitor on the page is connected to the same live feed.

Weekly, monthly, and all-time

The three views answer different questions. This Week is the volatile one - a track released on Monday can top it by Friday, which makes it the best place to find music that has not been discovered yet. This Month smooths out a single viral day and rewards releases with staying power. All Time is the archive: the tracks that have accumulated the most support since the chart opened. Genre filters stack on top of any of the three, so you can look at, say, only the electronic releases trending this week.

Getting your own music on it

There is no submission form and no fee. Create a smart link or a download gate for your release on TimbrGate, share it the way you would share any link - in your bio, on a post, in a newsletter - and the track becomes eligible. From there it is up to the people who hear it. Most artists who chart did it by sending their link to an audience they already had, however small; the chart amplifies attention, it does not manufacture it.

Why we built a chart at all

Streaming platforms surface music that already has momentum, which is a hard loop to break into when you are starting from zero. A small chart with a low barrier to entry does something different: it gives a track with fifty genuine supporters somewhere to be visible, next to tracks with five hundred. Nobody gets discovered by an algorithm here. They get discovered because somebody listened and voted.
